OMG how do i relate to this article let me count the ways. As is written by Bethan's information professional blog, her April 2012 entry on www.bethaninfoprof.wordpress.com/ titled Riding the imaginary tiger. It's not the actual getting something wrong that is the problem i accept that we all make mistakes and have bad days; it's the worry of potentially messing up. Planning ahead and preparing simply doesn't always prevent the anxiety of wondering "what if". I too stress over deadlines and will also bend over backwards so others can walk all over me knowing full well the standards i set for myself i would not demand of others. How is it that some people seem to not get bothered but others worry endlessly, where can i go to by a relaxed disposition? As stated by Bethan where does this pressure come from in her case to finish her book.
I enjoyed her musings on this subject i to feel as if i am riding a tiger (created by me) and he's galloping through a rain storm juggling kids, house, social obligations, work and now three days of school the later in an attempt to do something for me, that's different! As Bethan says i am constantly thinking of what needs to be done and forgeting to congratulate/pat myself on the back for how much i've achieved and the huge leaps i've taken. I must continue to take deep breathes and calm that tiger but sometimes his roar in my head is deafening!
